Youth Participatory Budgets
A participatory process is set up so that boys and girls aged 12 to 30 can choose which investments will be made with 30,000 euros
A participatory process is a sequence of participatory activities (e.g. first filling out a survey, then making proposals, discussing them in face-to-face or virtual meetings, and finally prioritizing them) with the aim of defining and making a decision on a specific topic.
Examples of participatory processes are: a process of electing committee members (where candidatures are first presented, then debated and finally a candidacy is chosen), participatory budgets (where proposals are made, valued economically and voted on with the money available), a strategic planning process, the collaborative drafting of a regulation or norm, the design of an urban space or the production of a public policy plan.
Phases of the process:
- Initial dissemination and collection of proposals: To publicize the process and young people in Torrelles from 12 to 30 years can submit their proposals until November 30.
- Selection of proposals: A group of young people between 18 and 30 years old are responsible for selecting the proposals that go to the final vote with the support of a technical team. This selection is developed over three work sessions: diagnosis, elaboration of proposals and technical review and prioritization.
- Final Voting: The voting of the final proposals is carried out electronically, through a virtual platform. All young people registered in the municipality between the ages of 12 and 30 can vote from 15 February to 15 March. You can vote at: https://surveys823173.typeform.com/to/b0S7g2uM
- Final evaluation of the process: Evaluation surveys are distributed to young people who have participated in the process to collect their degree of satisfaction.
